Summary edit
DescriptionScience Museum (5341710912).jpg |
A lovely dress made of steel. The Science Museum is very comprehensive, and I considered it to be as excellent as, say, American Museum of Natural History in New York, or Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This dress is part of a materials exhibit; nearby, I can also see how a car can be dismantled and its components recycled, via time-accelerated video and a Ford Mondeo hanging upside down from the ceiling. The newer part of Science Museum, the Wellcome Wing, focuses on human biology, exploring the various aspects of a given human being that makes him/her unique. Genetics is given a very detailed treatment, and sex/gender includes transgender topics. Everything is presented in a very child-friendly way yet extremely informative for grownups. (Try that in a US science museum - the religious extremists will not allow that.) |
