English: Scolpaig Tower , 1830 This tower is a folly. It stands in place of an ancient dun, which was pulled down and remodelled to its present form in 1930 by Dr Alexander MacLeod, who had a prediliction for meddling with historical sites. (He also moved the Kilpheder Cross from the churchyard there, to its current position on a hill.) |
