This cook house was the central gathering place of Seattle for some time. This was where the pioneers held their meetings - used as a court house. [A]s one librarian put it, it was where they ate, drank, laughed, sang, prayed, wept and slept. Building on left was built after the mill was running - There was[sic] always Indians around
