|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
The Puget Sound Electric Railway operated between Seattle and Tacoma from 1902 to 1928. Use of the railway fell with the rise of the automobile and construction of Highway 99. The south side of Hotel Seattle can be seen in the center of the photograph. The Interurban Building (also known as the Pacific Block) where the Puget Sound Electric Railway waiting room was located appears on the right side of the street, closest to the hotel. Other businesses on the right side of the street include the Queen City Hotel, the Good Theatre and the Occidental Clothing Company.
