Summary edit

Description

"View of the Diamond Ice & Storage Co's plant" from brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900), one of two pictures collectively captioned "The establishment of the Diamond Ice Co."

According to Polk's Seattle City Directory 1899 (Polk's Seattle Directory Co., 1899), p.328, the plant was located at the southwest corner of Western Avenue and Union Street. I don't know, but suspect, this is exactly equivalent to their address a few decades later for a different building at 1334 Alaskan Way, which survives much altered as a storage building to the north of the Western Avenue Steam Plant (which also still survives).
