Description

Merchants Café / Sanderson Block (109 Yesler Way) & surrounding buildings, Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington, USA. Built 1890. The Merchant's Café has been in continuous operation ever since, making it Seattle's oldest restaurant. In the 1920s and '30s, the upstairs functioned as a hotel, the Merchant's Hotel.

This is an image of a building or other location within the Pioneer Square-Skid Road Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district has been successively enlarged, and hence has multiple NRHP IDs: 70000086, 78000341, and 88000739

Other versions File:Seattle - Merchants Cafe 04.jpg is a similar image taken exactly a year later; it has the lights on on the Merchants Café sign, this one doesn't; that one is higher resolution and I think a bit sharper overall. I'd recommend the other picture.
