Description
English: Plenário do Senado Federal durante sessão especial em homenagem aos 80 anos de criação do território federal do Amapá.

O então território do Amapá foi estabelecido em 1943, a partir de desmembramento do estado do Pará, oficializado após decreto do presidente Getúlio Vargas. No início, a administração do Amapá permaneceu dividida entre a União e o governo do Pará, mas o contínuo processo autonomista se manteve, e foi finalizado na Constituição de 1988, quando o Amapá torna-se um dos 27 estados da Federação.

Em destaque, requerente e presidente desta sessão, senador Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP).
