Shangani Dance played by Swahili Girls at Lamu Fort Museums

| Description |
English: Shangani dance is a swahili dance play by women and girls. It is manly played during the wedding and cultural activities. The players have to wear make up, Khanga and Jasmine flowers.
The dance uses drum, pieces of sticks beaten to follow the rhythm of the song. Shangani dance was played by Bi Sharifa Abubakar Nabahany and Stone Town Academy Primary SchoolKiswahili: Ngoma ya shangani huchezwa na wanawake na watoto. Wachezaji hupambwa kwa asmini na vipodozi usoni na kichwani,wachezaji huvaa khanga mmoja begani. shangani ni ngoma inayochezwa katika sherehe za harusi au sherehe za kitamaduni. Ngoma ya shangani kuchezwa kwa kutumia fimbo na ngoma maalum ya kuchezea Shangani.
