English: Shaw Forest Park, Swindon The forest park is still under development on land that was once a landfill site. The area is dotted about with vents like the one in the foreground which disperse methane and carbon dioxide being emitted by anaerobic bacteria working on the organic content of the tipped material. This process of decomposition will carry on for years yet. |
