Description The Sheep Mountain Reservoir, located along Huerfano County Road 550 near Gardner, Colorado. The reservoir is a component of the Sheep Mountain Augmentation Facility, owned by the Huerfano County Water Conservancy District. The reservoir is connected to the Huerfano River via an 8-inch, two-way pipeline. Water is bought from senior water rights holders, stored in the reservoir, and then sold to other users. The inset shows a sign placed along CR 550.
