English: Nottingham - Bournemouth West express nearing Shepton Mallet. View northward, towards Bath and the North: ex-Somerset & Dorset Bath - Bournemouth West line. The Summer Saturday 07.37 from Nottingham Midland has been taken over at Bath Green Park for the gruelling run over the Mendips - from which it is descending, to reach Bournemouth West at 18.45 - in the unlikely event of a punctual arrival. Fowler 2P 4-4-0 No. 40563 (built 1928, withdrawn 5/62) is piloting SR rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific No. 34039 'Boscastle', which was built 9/46 as 21C139, rebuilt 1/59 and withdrawn 5/65 but preserved and is now on the Great Central Railway. |
