Summary edit

Description Sherborne Abbey (St. Mary), 27 July 2015. Founded as cathedral in 705 but seat was moved in 1075. It had already become a Benedictine Monastery in 998. Some Saxon work remains but most of current structure built 11th Century Norman and rebuilt/remodelled in 15th Century Perpendicular. Restored mid 19th Century Victorian. Pictured are the colours of the Dorsertshire Regimant in the Lady Chapel.
