Caption on image: C&R 193 On verso of image: Gold from Alaska. Eleven strong boxes of gold containing $1,100,00 in gold consigned from Nome, Alaska, to the U.S. Assay Office in Seattle in July if 1900. These shipments caused the stampede to Seward Peninsula during which over 25,000 people landed at Nome on Bering Sea from a fleet of about thirty-six vessels. Alaska's total gold production to Jan. 1, 1927 was $360,657,208.
