Comments
  • This is a punctuation proposed by Ministry of Education of Japan in 1946 to describe middle strength of stopping between idecgraphic comma (読点; テン; ten) and ideographic full stop (句点; マル; maru)[1], although rarely used.
  • Cited usages show only vertical form. It is not trivial that horizontal form is possible.
  • WHITE SESAME DOT (白ゴマ) will be used for 圏点 (kenten; 傍点 bouten), the dot placed on a side of character to emphasize text.
  • Gray square stands for the character boundary, not a part of glyph.
