English: Sign for the Olde Globe Inn, Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
The Globe was an emblem of Portugal and some British pubs took the name in order to advertise that wines of Portugal were available there. It is also a charge in heraldry and figures in the arms of the Clockmakers, Joiners and Spectacle Makers companies.
