Fast quadriga driven l. by female charioteer, holding reins in her l. hand and raising a flaming torch in her r.; above, Nike flying r. to crown her; in exergue, ear of barley with stalk.
ΣΥ – Ρ – ΑΚ – ΟΣΙΩΝ (Syrakosiōn i.e. "of the Syrakusans") Head of Athena facing three-quarters l., wearing triple-crested Attic helmet ornamented with palm fronds, double-hook earrings and necklace of pendant acorns with central medallion; across the bowl of the helmet the signature EYK – ΛEIΔ / A. Around four dolphins.

Quadriga veloce guidata da una auriga a sin; tiene le redini nella mano sinistra e sollava una torcia accesa nella destra; sopra, Nike che vola verso dx e la incorona; in esergo, spiga di orzo con stelo.
ΣΥ – Ρ – ΑΚ – ΟΣΙΩΝ Testa di Atene di tre quarti, che indossa un elmo attico ornato di triplo cimiero, orcchini a doppio gancio e collana di ghiande pendenti con medaglione centrale; sulla cupola dell'elmo la firma EYK – ΛEIΔ / A. Intorno four dolphins.

Very rare. An attractive specimen of this superb issue by a distinguished master engraver.
