Description Site of the original 'Sam the Record Man', at Yonge and Gould Street. Sam's was a very successful record store, in the days of vinyl -- for decades. Big music chains, like HMV, built stores next door. In the 2000s the store fell on hard times. The site is scheduled to be turned into a part of nearby Ryerson University.
