日本語: タイヤル族の開墾。山林を燒き山腹に切替畑を作る。樹の根は其儘にしてある。地力が盡れば輪轉耕をする。往々非常なる急斜面に畑地が在るから耕作中,上から轉落する石で腦天を打たれ即死する者などがある。最近にもパイワン族ライ社の蕃人も此為めに一命を失った者が有った。然し山徑徒跋は蕃人の意とせざる處であり足指誠に「如雞爪」であるから,却て腰を曲けずに耕作が出來るのを悦んでゐる者もある。(移川子之藏) |
