Summary edit

Description
English: Smoke Trail Wind Shear Measurements - Launch vehicles are subjected to loads, shocks, and vibrations from a number of sources as it ascends through the atmosphere. Among the more important loading sources are horizontal winds that are encountered at a certain level in flight. Data reduction was handled jointly by Langley Reseach Center and Marshall Flight Space Center. The data is then available to meteorologists and launch vehicle designers to better understand these conditions, as well as to design better launch vehicles. Film produced by NASA Langley Research Center General Photographic Branch.
