English: Winter-like weather brought snow to the Western United States between December 1 and 3, 2023.

By December 2, Winter Weather Advisories were in effect for parts of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. The National Weather Service issues advisories for “any amount of freezing rain, or when 2 to 4 inches of snow (alone or in combination with sleet and freezing rain) is expected to cause a significant inconvenience, but not serious enough to warrant a warning”.

Although weather conditions were milder further south, the storm also brought snow and rain to New Mexico and Arizona. The Denver Post reported snow totals as high as 19.5 inches (49.5 cm) in Breckenridge, Colorado by December 3, while Northern Arizona received a dusting of snow and, further south, up to an inch of precipitation was recorded.

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) captured a true-color image of fresh snow topping high elevations in the Four Corners region on December 5. Four Corners is the one place in the United States where the borders four states meet. This spot sits near the center of the image. The four states are Utah (northwest), Colorado (northeast), New Mexico (southeast), and Arizona (southwest).
