Summary edit

Description
English: Soldiers Lump. The Trig on Soldiers Lump in the days when it deserved its reputation of being surrounded by a 200 metre quagmire of liquid black peat. Often walkers made a wide circle around the summit to reach the path on the other side. The area around the pillar is called Soldier's Lump to commemorate the efforts of the Royal Engineers who surveyed the region in the 1800's.
