Tekst bak på bildet: Aus dem nachlass Ossi Buchbauer +: foto 6. oder 8. kp., mann unbekannt: Die ersten gebirgjäger am Polarkreis. Das muss auf alle fälle die spize btl. Sorko sein, man sieht noch nicht den hakenkreuzwimpel, der wurde sicher erst nach herangebracht! (Wahrscheinlich von einem mann des krad-schützen zuges Hermann Göring, siehe alarm-buch). Hohengasser der 7.kp. fiel kurz vorher durch den engl. panzer, dann stiess eine andere kp. weiter vor, 6. oder 8. kp. leute der 7. kp. sind auf dem foto jedenfalls nicht! Gegen ende mai 1940 (22.23?)

Soldater fra 6. eller 8. kompani. De var noen av de første bergjegerne som nådde polarsirkelen (Sorko var bataljonssjef). Senere kom en motorsykkeltropp fra Herman Gørings kompani, de satte opp et hakekors på selve polarsøylen.

Soldiers from the 6th or 8th Company. They were some of the first rock hunters who reached the Arctic Circle (Sorko was battalion commander). Later came a motorcycle platoon from Herman Goering company, they set up a swastika on the polar column.
