English: This is the Sonoran Desert on the bajada of the McDowell Mountains. After a wet winter, the spring flowers are quite showy. The slopes are cloaked in yellow from brittlebush (Encelia farinosa) at the peak of their bloom, punctuated by jumping chollas, barrel cactus, and palo verdes. |
