| Description |
English: The south-facing hillside that is the type locality of the Portal Talussnail Sonorella neglecta. Gregg (1951) described the site as below low granitic cliffs 3 miles west along the road from Portal to Paradise, in the Chiricahua Mountains of SE Arizona (Cochise County). In fact the cliffs are limestone. Gregg collected in March and October 1948, finding only empty shells, but Miller (1967) subsequently found living specimens here. The view is from a little lower (1650 m) than where Gregg said he collected (5300 ft ~ 1750 m) but living specimens of the species were present in shaded gullies in the low cliffs in the foreground.
