English: The Sophie thermal binoculars are a family of hand held thermal cameras produced by Thales.
The Sophie family is designed for use on military operations, peacekeeping operations, border surveillance and many other applications. They allow the detection, recognition, identification and location of day and night targets even in adverse conditions such as fog, wind and dust, or facing sunlight. They equally allow the transfer of information to Command & Control (C²) Centres.
Français : Les jumelles thermiques SOPHIE constituent une famille de caméras thermiques portables fabriqués par Thales.
Les SOPHIE sont destinées aux opérations militaires, de maintien de la paix, de surveillance de frontière etc. Elles permettent de détecter, reconnaître, identifier et localiser des cibles de jour comme de nuit et même dans des conditions dégradées comme le brouillard, le vent de sable, ou face au soleil. Elles permettent également de transférer des informations au centre de Commandement et de Contrôle (C²). |
