Summary
editDescriptionSourton snowfall 7 February 2009 6.JPG | A picture taken on Dartmoor near Sourton, about 4 miles (6 km) south-west of Okehampton showing a group of sheep huddling together for warmth. It shows the heavy snowfall that covered much of Devon on 6 February 2009. Sourton Tor is shown in the background to the right and Shelstone Tor to the left. Sheep farmers on Dartmoor can let their sheep roam around freely without enclosed fields. The farmers therefore mark their sheep with paint such as the blue and red paint seen on the sheeps' necks, so they know which sheep belong to which farmer. |
