South Australian Railways Yx class locomotive no. 179 -- builder's photo taken at Islington Works

Summary edit

Description
English: South Australian Railways Y class locomotive no. 179 -- builder's photo taken at Islington Railway Workshops.

NOTE: The image from which this was derived, titled X Class Locomotive Engine and Tender(GN07234).jpg, wrongly identified the locomotive as belonging to the South Australian Railways X class. Factors contradicting this: the X class had an entirely different appearance and had single-digit numbers; the Y class included Y179.
Date probably 1898
Source History Trust of South Australia as X Class Locomotive Engine and Tender(GN07234).jpg, now redirected to South Australian Railways Y class locomotive no 179 -- untouched builder's photo (HTSA GN07234).jpg
