Description
English: In 1937, the South Australian Railways and Commonwealth Railways built (respectively) broad and standard gauge lines to Port Pirie, which had previously been served by a narrow gauge line. Depots were built at Port Pirie Junction station for locomotives to be serviced. In this photo, taken by Weston Langford, South Australian Railways diesel locos 844 and 932 stand on broad gauge tracks while a Commonwealth Railways diesel fuel tank car and passenger car are on standard gauge tracks.
