English: The USNS Henson hosted a tour and reception on the final evening of Oceanographic Southern Partnership Station 10 (O-SPS10) in Colombia while anchored in the Port of Cartagena. The tour gave an overview of the ship, the oceanographic and hydrographic survey equipment on board and reviewed the events that took place during O-SPS10. The tour was followed by a reception which was highlighted by a first-ever Oceanographic Flag officer meeting with Rear Adm. Henry Blain, commandante de la Fuerza Naval del Caribe, Colombia navy, and Rear Adm. Jonathan White, commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, U.S. Navy. O-SPS 10 is a joint project being conducted to demonstrate current technologies and capabilities of the U.S. Navy, to share information on conducting military oceanographic surveys in various environments between members of the Centro De Investigaciones Oceanograficas e Hidrograficas staff and the crew of the Henson and to strengthen ties between each country's military. |
