DescriptionSpartans dig into fundamentals, prove their mettle during armored gunnery 131106-A-CW513-469.jpg |
English: An M1A2SEP Abrams Tank from Company C, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment “Battle Boars," fires during a live-fire accuracy screening test at Red Cloud Range, Nov. 6. The live-fire accuracy screening test is a phase in gunnery where crews establish and verify the accuracy of the main gun on their tank. The gunnery is a crew-level mounted gunnery, and consists of crews conducting Tables II-VI. Each table has a specific purpose, which collective builds the crew up in proficiency until the last table, table VI, which consists of numerous targets and maneuvers, where the crew attempts to qualify on the vehicle. The 2nd ABCT has been conducting gunnery for more than a month now and is still far from finished. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID, Public Affairs NCO) |
