English: Spitfire F Mk.Ia K9942 at RAF Museum Cosford
日本語: イギリス空軍博物館(RAFM)コスフォード館にあるスピットファイア F Mk.Ia。製造番号は6S-30225で、機体番号はK9942。1936年6月3日に「B527113 / 36」として発注された機体の一つで、1939年に155番目のスピットファイアとして製造された。同年4月21日にはジョージ・ピックリング(George Pickering)の手で初飛行が行われた。4月24日に空軍へと納入され、第72飛行隊A小隊へ配属。「SD-D」のマーキングとなるが、9月の部隊記号変更で「RN-D」となる。1940年6月5日に偵察中の不具合で故障し不時着、退役となった。その後RAFの手で保管の後博物館入りし、数度ロンドン館とコスフォード館を行き来して現在に至る。 |
