| Description | The lower of the two bridges here is the Spokane Street Bridge, a 1991-opened swing bridge with two consecutive (as opposed to side-by-side) swing spans that move in unison when the bridge is opened for water traffic. It replaced an earlier bridge on the same site. This view is from the east, from the West Seattle Bridge Trail, looking west. At left are some of the supports of the much higher West Seattle Bridge, opened in 1984. |
