English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The annual sports celebration for disabled veterans is held at the practice area of the militairy convalescent home Aardenburg in Doorn. English contestants are doing archery. An English and a Dutch team, who call themselves the Rolling Lions, play a game of wheelchair basketball. After their victory the English team receive their prizes from colonel W. van Lanschot, chairman of the Association Military War Victims. In the audience are mister Rietveld, secretary general of the Ministry of War, and the count C.Th.E. Van Lynden van Sandenburg, Royal Commisioner in Utrecht.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
Op het oefenterrein van het militaire herstellingsoord Aardenburg te Doorn wordt het jaarlijkse sportfeest voor oorlogsinvaliden gehouden. Engelse deelnemers doen aan boogschieten. Een Engels en een Nederlands team, dat zich de Rollende Leeuwen noemt, spelen een wedstrijd rolstoelbasketbal. Na hun overwinning krijgen de Engelsen hun prijzen uit handen van kolonel W. van Lanschot, voorzitter van de Bond van Nederlandse Militaire Oorlogsslachtoffers. Onder de toeschouwers bevinden zich de heer Rietveld, secretaris-generaal van het Ministerie van Oorlog, en de graaf C.Th.E. Van Lynden van Sandenburg, commissaris der koningin in Utrecht. |
