Summary edit

Description Whipps Garden Cemetery is a one-acre site located in Ellicott City, Maryland. The site was purchased by William Whipps in 1855 to serve as a family burial ground for the Whipps family of Howard County. The last burials in the cemetery took place in the early 1900s. After that , the site became increasingly overgrown and vandalism took a heavy toll. The site has been restored starting in 1987 by members of the St. John's Community Association.
