She visitsthem often while she is at the castle, and shelooks carefully after their health and comforts. The dogs of Windsor Castle keep regular hours.They are turned out at a certain time each dayfor their exercise and sports, and they have anumber of courts connected with the kennelsupon which they scamper to and fro over greenlawns. There are umbrella-like affairs on theselawns, where they can lie in the shade if theywish to, and in some of them there are poolsof water where the dogs can take a bath, andin which they swim and come out and shakethemselves just as though they were ordinaryyellow dogs rather than royal puppies. The Queen has her favorites among the dogs,and some of them become jealous of the atten-tions she pays to others. Among those she likesbest is one named Marco. He weighs just abouttwelve pounds, and he has brighter eyes, quickermotions, and a sharper bark than any other dogin the kennel. One of these iscalled Snowball, and another goes by thename of Lily.
