English: St Dympna's Shrine, Caldavnet, Tedavnet, Co Monaghan Private lands, there is no public Right of Way onto the site. Feastday of St Dympna is May 15th. The Irish version of her name is Davnet and has given its name to the village and parish of Tydavnet in County Monaghan in Ireland, just 10 miles from her birthplace in Clogher. She is reputed to have established a church there and a Staff or Crozier attributed to her is now in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin. She is the patron saint of those who suffer from mental illnesses and nervous system disorders, epileptics and mental health professionals. |
