English: St Fachtnan's church The little C13th church at Kilfenora is cathedral to the smallest diocese in Ireland. Created in 1152 by the Synod of Kells by an accident of history it remained so until the last Catholic bishop, James Augustine O'Daly died in exile in 1749. It is now part of Galway diocese since 1883. |
