English: St Mary's church - churchyard. The northern section of St Mary's churchyard. St Mary's church is located at the northern end of the village, above the primary school > 1270629 east of The Street. Sadly, the church is kept locked and visitors and pilgrims do not appear to be welcome here. The church contains a famous wall painting which depicts the life of St Catherine in a number of frames > 321181 some of these dated to about 1400. According to the Norfolk Churches website http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/sporle/sporle.htm the building has a complex architectural history. |
