English: St Michael's Mill. The disused St Michael's tower mill > 1356447 is part of the premises of Basil L Leeder & Sons Ltd who produce animal feed stuffs & additives.
Stratton St Michael towermill was originally a three storey red-brick mill but by 1865 two storeys had been added. The mill had a boat-shaped cap and a petticoat, a 6-bladed fan and a chain pole. A lean-to was built against the tower in the early 1970s and the mill was capped with a conical roof bearing a weathervane, both still in place. |
