English: St Michael's church in Geldeston St Michael's church https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1342904 has been built into a hill beside Yarmouth Road. The round tower dates from the 12th century but after a Victorian restoration, the rebuilding of the chancel and the addition of a north transept in 1864 not many original features remain. The porch is medieval as is the baptismal font > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1971173. pulpit and benches date from the 19th century and the unusual east window > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1971164 - by Leonard Walter - was installed in the 20th century. |
