Description
English: St Queran's Well St Queran (or Querdon, Guerdon, Quergan, or Jardan etc.) was a Scottish saint, the date assigned to him being the 9th September 876. The well was held in great repute for the cure of diseases, particularly of women and children, offerings left at the well and can be seen hanging on the nearby tree. Coins recovered from the well, date back to about 1560 including Scottish, English, Irish and French. Present day coinage has been found in the well together with one or two Roman Catholic medals of the Virgin and two counterfeit coins.
