Summary edit

Description St Roberts Church, Pannal, North Yorkshire, England. Turret clock mechanism in tower. Possibly dates from 19th century. Measures over 3ft high and wide. Chimes on the hour using clapper against largest church bell. Clock weights and winding cranks removed some years ago, and replaced with electric motor, but main mechanism still working. 6ft pendulum causes tick of about one second. Image shows the spindle driven by the turret clock mechanism (out of shot), going through the tower wall to one of the exterior clock faces. The clock faces are blue, and you can see a slight blueing of the light coming in through the clock face.
