Summary edit
DescriptionStacking Rig for Macro photography of insects.jpg | This is my latest kit for focus stacking. In this shot I have the Nikon 10x objective fitted in front of the Canon lens to give an overall 5x magnification I believe. This is useful for really close-up images of (eg) the faces of flies. Other times I use a Raynox lens and often just the Canon macro lens is about right for shots of a whole insect. Omitted for clarity is the roll of paper that I use to shield the specimen (and lens) from the glare of the lamps. This is often draped in additional tissue paper to reduce the light so that I can use a long exposure time (eg 2 secs) to further reduce the effect of any vibration. The objective is to have everything rock-solid when the shots are taken. |
