Airmail stamp of Upper Yafa; 1967; airmail stamp (other catalogue: commemorative stamp) of the British Protectorate of South Arabia (ca. 1800-1967: "Aden protectorate"); The Sultanate of Upper Yafa was a part of this protectorate (from 1901: "Protectorat of South Arabia", before that was the territory a province of the Ottoman Empire); (1901 establishment of a military alliance with the British; Panarabic Nationalistic riots against the Sultan of Upper Yafa in the 1950s and first half of the 1960s which were defeated with assistance of the British; 1967 release in the independence; 1967-1990: "South Yemen"; since 1990: "Republic of Yemen"); The stamp was of the séries "Paintings of children and 20th Anniversary of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)".; The stamp motive shows a relative rare portrait from the high phase of the creative works of a Auguste Renoir (Pierre-Auguste Renoir, 1841-1919), which was created in 1880 in the style of the impressionism and which is showing the young Héléne Grimprel in a "ruban rouge".
