Stamp of Romania; 1973; definitive stamp of the issue "Monuments in Romania"; The stamp motive shows a monochromized depiction of the Cathedral as the main church of the monstery of "Curtea de Angeş" on the right banks of the river "Agneş" in Romania. ("Curtea" means "court or inner yard of of...") Town and monastery were founded in 1521 or 1522 by the then Prince "Radu Negru" (1259-1521) and his wife "Milica Despina of Walachia" (1485-1554) and built in the Byzantinic style.; "Radu Negru" (literally: "Radu, the Black") was also called "Radu Voda", "Woiwode Radu", "Negru Voda" etc). He was from the "House of Croioveşti",.; His reign as "Woiwode of Wallachia" was 1512-1521, his wife Milica Despina 1521-1522:; The Cathedral was plundered by Ottomanes and Hungarians in early 16th century.; The Cathedral belongs contemporary to the Romanian Orthodox Church,; The founders (it exist a memorial plate in the church) were canonized in 2008 and to that occupation was his name "Radu Negru" changed to "Neagoe Basarab".; His annual fest is the 26th of September of an each year.; stamp postmarked
