| Description |
English: 1988 ‘Discount Package’. Though this does not look like a traditional booklet, it is classified as such. It is a post office printed envelope containing a 10-block of stamps. Originally, packages containing 10-blocks of the Posten 350 stamp were sold 1 February - 31 May 1988 (LaPe AX 26PA). Every Åland household received six coupons to purchase the package for 14.00 marks, instead of the 18.00 mark face value. Then on 10 October 1988 to celebrate International Letter Writing Day, the post office gave 3200 more packages to teachers and students. 453 of them were this 1.80 mk Sailing Ship issue. Thus the packages containing this Sailing Ship stamp issue were not sold, but were given away.
