According to seattletheatrehistory.org John Cort had two successive theaters called the Standard Theatre on opposite corners of the same block in what is now Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood. If the date is accurate, then this must be the earlier one (1885-1888), which was indeed at what is now the southeast corner of Second and Washington (a location much reconfigured by the construction of Second Avenue Extension in 1929). The second was built in 1888 at what is now the northeast corner of Occidental and Main, where the Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters stands as of 2020. That one burned in the Great Seattle Fire. This is all made more complicated by the fact that what was then known as 2nd Avenue South is today's Occidental Avenue South.
