Description
English: The statesman Sir Ralph Sadler (1507-1587) built a great mansion, Standon Lordship, on his estate at Standon, Hertfordshire, which he acquired in 1544. Standon remained in the possession of the Sadler family until the death of the last male heir in 1660. Print by Simoneau after George Tytler (engraver). Published in: Nichols, John (1823).
