Description
Italiano: Combattimento di Colmasino, ridotto, ritoccato, litografia. Il 29 maggio 1848, la brigata di fanteria austriaca comandata dal colonnello Friedrich Zobel, inviata a rompere l'assedio di Peschiera, venne fermata da due sole compagnie di bersaglieri, di cui una di bersaglieri studenti, guidate dal capitano Roccabadati. Arroccati nell'abitato di Colmasino, privi di artiglieria, i volontari resistettero strenuamente per ore fino all'arrivo dei rinforzi, infliggendo gravi perdite agli austriaci e risultando determinati per la resa della fortezza di Peschiera, caduta il giorno successivo. L'illustrazione mostra la fase finale dello scontro in cui gli austriaci vengono respinti e incalzati dall'arrivo dei fanti della 2ª divisione, comandata dal generale Michele Bes.
