| Description |
English: Start of the footpath to Walsey Hills Walsey Hills is situated on the A149 (Grid ref: TG062442). The only part of the famous Cley Bird Observatory (1949-63) still in operation covers 1.2 hectares of hillside scrubland, gorse and hawthorn, beside the coast road between Cley and Salthouse. It provides excellent cover for migrant birds and often attracts rare species. Besides birds, adders, slow worms and common lizards can also be found in these hills, as well as several butterfly species. The watch point is situated above Cley's east bank and affords outstanding views across the nearby reedbeds. |
